Office No. 4

Statement From A. Veronica Sauceda
I am a Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner selected to serve in that position by judges from the Los Angeles Superior Court. I am currently assigned to the South-Central District. Prior to becoming a Commissioner, I served for over 13 years at Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County and subsequently at the Los Angeles Center for Law and Justice as a public interest attorney providing free legal representation in family law matters. In addition to providing high quality direct services to clients, I trained dozens of law students and attorneys how to be zealous advocates for families.
In my capacity as a public interest attorney, I provided competent, effective, and successful representation to low income individuals in family law matters. I obtained numerous restraining orders for victims of domestic abuse against their abusers; secured fair distribution of assets in divorce proceedings; and ensured fairness in child custody matters. My experience as an advocate for the underserved has informed my work as a Commissioner. I am committed to ensuring justice, fairness and impartiality in my court.
My commitment to public service stems from my experience growing up as a daughter of immigrants. My parents worked hard, not only to put food on the table, but also to instill in each of their ten children the idea that dreams for a better future could be achieved through dedication, arduous work, sacrifice, and service to others. My graduation from Artesia High School, the University of California, Los Angeles and UCLA School of Law, is a testament to my parents’ love and dedication to their family. As their legacy of hopes and dreams, I seek to continue modeling their lives by continuing my public service as a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge.
